Koninginnedag

Today is Queens Day in the Nederlands. Every year on April the 30th this event takes place. A vibrant community feeling takes the lead and people change their habits.
- Everyone sells everything on the streets.
- Lots of espontaneous streets concerts.
- A lot of other unexpected events.

Video Blogs

João has pointed my attention to vidblogs.

“Vidblogs are films. They usually are between one and six minutes and contain lots of “real” footage from someone’s life. Vidblogging is the ultimate public voyer experiment.”

Privacy used to be an issue when weblogs came in. vidblogs have the same problem are are much more difficult to maintain. Let’s see if it gets trendy.

Also check Audio Blogging.

Digital Magazines

Using zinio I have subscribed the digital version of Internet Works, Business 2.0
and MIT’s Technology Review.
The viewer is very smooth and it even includes magazine ads.
I have cancelled the physical version of all of them. And it saves me a lot of money. I used to buy one magazine for 8 € and I payed 10 € for the 12-month subscription of Internet Works.

Weddings

I have already been to 2 weddings this year and I have invitations to 4 more.
This is expensive guys! Stop it! Go to the Bahamas and get married there for god sake!

In The Mean Time…

In the last 30 days or so I’ve done lots of things.
Around work:
- I went to the “E-commerce in Portugal” conference. I was able to listen to a presentation on the case studies from exit.pt (an online travel agency) and miau.pt (an auction site). Lots of information from behind the scenes.
- I spent 3 days at Sapo.
- I had a 4-day training in Bricolage where I met David Wheeler.
- I’m currently building new templates using Bricolage.

Around home:
- I bought this fantastic table lamp from IKEA.

- She and I found this lovely place while looking for a new home and we are looking forward to try (bureaucrecy-related verb) to buy it.

Just an overview.

I’m back.

My last post was over a month ago. I had a few problems with the other weblog software I was using. b2 was it’s name back then and about one month ago someone exploited a security failure from PHP and I had to close down the blog. I had already decided to move to movabletype so I thought it was time to do it.

I also registered a new domain name which I’ll be using for all my projects from now on.
