Lisboa DownTown 2009 (My video)
Lisboa DownTown 2009
Tomorrow I’ll be spending the afternoon in Lisbon attending the Lisboa DownTown 2009.
Entrepreneurs can change the world
Yes we can. Seen here.
Gary Vaynerchuck on the Alentejo Wine Region
Gary Vaynerchuk does another exciting show about wines from the Alentejo. Gary is really into Portuguese wines and that can only be good.
Of course you can find all the 3 wines on Adegga too: Pera Manca 2006 (white), Esporão Reserva 2006 (red), Vila Santa 2006 (red).
The World in Data
Hans Rosling doing an amazing presentation on World stats at the European Zeitgeist 2009.

Survs Now Open, InvoicExpress and Go Plan 2 Launched!
While in London I missed the launch and relaunch of three of the most interesting Portuguese Startups. Here’s a brief look at each of them:
Goplan 2.0

The good guys at WeBreakStuff have launched a new version of their online project management and team collaboration platform. Lots of new stuff well described in a video and throughout their blog.
Invoic€xpress

Invoic€xpress is one of the most ambitious online projects in Portugal. It’s a online billing application to easily create and manage receipts. To know more don’t miss their lovely introduction video.
Survs

Survs had been in closed beta for a while and this week they finally opened their doors to everyone. Survs is a great collaborative tool to create online surveys with simplicity and elegance. Go there and try it!
It’s great to see good projects coming out of the oven in Portugal. I wish you all the luck!
Dyson Airblade
At the London Wine Fair I had the chance of using a Dyson Airblade for the first time.
The Dyson Airblade is a hand drier that works by project a jet of unheated air at 400 miler per hour. It takes 10 seconds and uses around 80% less energy than conventional hand dryers. Really impressive technology.
Here’s a demo video of the thing working:

At the London Wine Fair
As I said previously I’ll be spending this week in London to attend the London Wine Fair.
The event includes drinking (more like tasting…) lots of great wine and also hours of hard work promoting the Adegga, Catavino and the European Wine Bloggers Conference (that will happen in Portugal in October)

Lots of stuff going on this week:
- I’ll be at ViniPortugal’s stand most of the event. Look for me at stand B20/C20.
- Together with the Catavino team I’ll be setting up an interesting social media experiment that involves Twitter (of course), a Live video feed and lot of photos. More on this later.
- Wednesday I’ll make to short presentations at the stand. One about the AVIN (the ISBN for Wine) and one about Social Tasting Notes sites like Adegga.
- Also on Wednesday I’ll be at the Catavino-co-hosted London Wine and Food Blogger’s Meetup!
If you’re in London please pass by ViniPortugal’s stand (B20/C20) and lets have a glass of wine!
The 4th Screen
This video from Nokia NSeries seems to be few months old but I hadn’t seen it before and I love it. Great contextualization. Great feeling of progression.
OFFF2009
I was at OFFF only one afternoon (from the 3 days) but got a bunch of incredible inspirations from really cool designers/thinkers/hackers/renaissance guys. Here’s a great video made to promote the sponsors of the events:
