Lisbon Wine and Food Fair 2007

The event is actually called Encontro com o Vinho / Encontro com os Sabores 2007 but I’m writing this post to let english speaking readers know about the fair.

The event
The wine fair is organized by one of the leading Portuguese wine magazines - Revista de Vinhos - that selected more than 200 wine, cheese and olive oil producers. Accessing the wine fair costs 10 € but after that all wine and food tasting is free. There’s also a shop that sells products being tasted at the fair. Some are for sale at special prices.

Special tastings
There are special tasting events for which reservation is required. The price for each tasting includes the wine fair entrance fee. To make a reservation fax: 21 436 95 89 or e-mail dbandeira@mce.iol.pt. Here’s the list of events:

A vertical tasting of the classical reserves with an explanation of what’s coming ahead for Casa de Santar.

João Portugal Ramos Wines
19:00 h – Pav 3 – Sala 3B - Price: 30,00 €
An overview of João Ramos (winemaker, prestigious producer) wines.

Openning days
3rd and 4th November (everyone) and 5th November (professionals only).
