That’s why I blog in English too
Loic (who will also be at Reboot 7) has a friend in Israel who writes about why he decided to blog in English.
His reasons are my reasons too. Putting it simply: International recognition, Networking and Conversation.
Nir explains:
“I’m a little frustrated that the stuff that we are doing here stays here. I mean that almost no one can get information about Digital lifestyle, Social software, Blogging and Internet Innovation in Israel.”
I feel the same for Portugal. Most of the information about the Portuguese Internet reality is written in Portuguese. There is much to gain to open that information to the rest of the world and share ideas and opinions.
He adds:
That is one of the reason I blog in English, too. I have always been frustrated to feel late compared to the US on too many things so sharing in english helps you catch up and stay in permanent touch with your friends around the world.
Portugal too has still a lot of work to do in what matters to the the digital society. A lot has been done and there’s great people with great projects and ideas on the run. Sharing that experiences in English will help others realize what is being done around here and join the discussion (for example with trackbacks and comments on weblogs).
I have been blogging for more than 2 years now and always in English. I went through a lot of experiences because of this blog. Getting into LoQUo is just one of those great experiences.

Hi Andre,
Only 5 days in the International Blogging scene and I am an addict!
I hope that you, me and other International bloggers will share each other experiences in regular basis.
I planned to come to “Reboot” but at that time I will be in a vacation at the beautiful beaches of Eilat.
Welcome Nir!
Hopefuly you’ll be able to read and hear Reboot 7 when you come back.
Enjoy the vacations at Eilat (just googled it)

In “That’s why I blog in English too”, Andr talks about the reasons he blogs in English: International Recognition, Networking and Conversation. I would put my reasons in a single expression: Community of Interest.
